When Ducks Attack!

Near mom's farm

Taken at Purok Amboy in Gansing, Tacurong City, Sultan Kudarat. I will never forget that moment when I stepped out of the car to run after these cute guys. It was like a gust of energy and the extreme wanting to take a video of this amazing scene. Farm life is so simple yet refreshing...always living with nature at its best.

Lake Sebu 1990s

Here are the first set of pictures taken way back early 1990s. The site then (which is now named Balben Family Cove) is very much bare! No huts, no warm water, no concrete roads and no electricity. The place is so peaceful.

CAMSUR: Behind the Scenes with Star Magic Presents

More photos taken during our last taping day at Camarines Sur. Sad goodbyes...but definitely the most unforgettable taping day.

House Blessing and Happy Birthday

We arrived at Uncle Nono's house around 10:30 in the morning at Sacred Heart Village in Novaliches, a 2 and a half hour drive from Laguna. We rented a van from tito Rey (Thanks Tito!) We were almost complete except for dad who preferred to stay home to take more rest after undergoing an operation.

Anong atin dun?

I was home with my family sa Laguna except sa brother ko who at that time is staying at his dorm in Manila. He txted my mom in the morning, telling na pinasok siya ng tubig sa room niya.

Go Negosyo: Youth Entrepreneurship Summit 2009

This ain’t a form of online election rally alright (although many government officials participated), this post tackles about a recent one-day event that aimed to spark entrepreneurial mindset among the youth.

One Sunny Tagaytay

My relatives from South Cotabato are here for my cousin's church wedding. For some of them like Auntie Malen, whose last visit to Manila was in the 1990s, so much needs to be seen! So we decided to go to one of Luzon's favorite tourist spot, TAGAYTAY!

We took the Carmona route, which took us longer because we really didn't know the way, we should've let the driver took the Sta. Rosa Exit. Anyway, our first stop, Pink Sisters.

Most extensive holiday getaway!!!

Why most extensive? Because this 2 week long vacation to our province in Mindanao is special. We've waited 10 long years for something like this to happen again. You see, it IS EXPENSIVE to travel and ride a plane especially if you have a big family, like us (9 members you might ask)!   Anyway, my family's version of a "holiday getaway" is somewhat fresh this time. Because a lot of new things happened. But I guess what makes this trip extra special is that we were able to get in touch with as many relatives as we can, celebrated the season with parties here and there, reunions, farm visits plus our unforgettable eco-tourism activities in Lake Sebu. We have a big clan (from both sides) so were able to really take advantage of this trip, touring Tacurong City, Koronadal, Lake Sebu, Polomolok and General Santos City.

Lake Sebu's Tiboli Tribe on Gifts and Tradition

A day of Sharing with the T'boli Tribe

"Seeing the world from a different angle is a revelatory experience that adds depth and wisdom to our lives."
Spending the holiday season of 2008 with my family and relatives from the province of Mindanao left me nothing but good memories.
The highlight of our Lake Sebu trip was the scheduled Gift Giving and Medical Mission to the natives from Palo Siete. It has been a yearly family tradition spearheaded by Uncle Nonoy and wife Auntie Malen who've both been actively involved in community service in Lake Sebu. But year 2008 was different, because I was there, and that was one amazing journey!
